What advanced analytics is built on

A useful model depends on far more than the algorithm. Four things decide whether advanced analytics delivers, and we get all four right.

Step 1

The right question

A business decision worth improving, framed so a model can answer it and success is measurable.

Step 2

Ready data

Clean, relevant, well-engineered features, because the best algorithm cannot rescue poor inputs.

Step 3

Validated models

Models tested honestly for accuracy, bias and stability before anyone relies on them.

Step 4

Deployment

The output delivered into a dashboard, system or workflow where it actually changes a decision.

Advanced analytics is where data stops describing the past and starts shaping the future. As a UK data science partner, Anviam builds the predictive and prescriptive models that forecast demand, flag the customers about to leave, score your best leads and surface the patterns no dashboard will ever show you on its own.

The difference between analytics that pays and analytics that gathers dust is focus. We start from a business decision worth improving, then build, validate and deploy the model that improves it, and put the output where your team can act. A model that lives in a notebook changes nothing, so we always ship to where the work happens.

From a first proof of concept to a production machine-learning pipeline with monitoring and retraining, we meet you where you are. You get models you can trust, explained in plain English, tied to outcomes you can measure in revenue, cost or risk.

What advanced analytics and data science are

Advanced analytics covers the techniques that go beyond standard reporting: predictive analytics that estimate what will happen, prescriptive analytics that recommend what to do, and the statistical and machine-learning methods behind them. Data science is the craft of applying these to real business data to produce a reliable, usable answer.

In practice that means forecasting next quarter's demand, predicting which customers will churn, grouping customers into meaningful segments, or spotting a transaction that does not fit the pattern. The common thread is turning historical data into a forward-looking decision, with a confidence level you can reason about.

  • Predictive analytics and forecasting
  • Prescriptive and optimisation models
  • Classification and scoring
  • Clustering and segmentation
  • Statistical analysis and testing
  • Experimentation and causal analysis

Predictive models for real business problems

We build models around the problems that move your numbers. Churn models that flag at-risk customers while there is still time to keep them. Demand and sales forecasts that cut both stock-outs and overstock. Lead and customer scoring that points your team at the opportunities most likely to close. Lifetime-value models that show who is worth investing in.

Each model is validated honestly, we report real accuracy, not flattering numbers, and we are candid about what it can and cannot do. A model that is 80 per cent right and used beats a perfect model nobody trusts, so we optimise for decisions improved, not leaderboard scores.

  • Customer churn prediction
  • Demand and sales forecasting
  • Lead and customer scoring
  • Customer lifetime value
  • Price and revenue optimisation
  • Risk and propensity modelling

Customer analytics and segmentation

Understanding your customers as groups, not an average, is where a lot of quick value sits. We build segmentation that reveals who your customers really are and what they do, so marketing, product and service can treat different groups differently and spend where it returns most.

On top of segmentation we build the analytics that drive retention and growth: which journeys lead to loyalty, which to churn, and where the next pound of effort is best spent. The output feeds straight into your campaigns, your product roadmap and your BI dashboards.

  • Behavioural and value segmentation
  • RFM and cohort analysis
  • Customer journey analytics
  • Retention and loyalty modelling
  • Next-best-action recommendations
  • Marketing-mix insight

AI, machine learning and text analytics

Where the data is rich enough, machine learning finds patterns traditional methods miss, and modern AI opens up data that used to be out of reach. We apply ML to prediction and recommendation, and use natural-language techniques to analyse the free text locked inside reviews, tickets, surveys and documents.

That means recommendation engines that lift average order value, anomaly detection that catches fraud and faults early, and text analytics that turns thousands of comments into themes you can act on. We choose the simplest technique that solves the problem, rather than reaching for complexity for its own sake.

  • Recommendation engines
  • Anomaly and fraud detection
  • Natural-language and text analytics
  • Sentiment and theme extraction
  • Document and ticket classification
  • Computer-vision use cases

From model to production with MLOps

A model is only useful once it runs reliably on live data and keeps earning its keep. We deploy models into production with the engineering discipline that keeps them healthy: automated pipelines, versioning, monitoring for drift, and retraining when the world changes and performance slips.

This is MLOps, and it is what separates a one-off experiment from a durable capability. We build it so your models stay accurate, their behaviour stays explainable, and you are never caught out by a model quietly degrading in the background.

  • Model deployment and serving
  • Automated ML pipelines
  • Model and data versioning
  • Drift monitoring and alerting
  • Scheduled retraining
  • Explainability and governance

Who advanced analytics is for

Advanced analytics suits any organisation with enough data and a decision worth getting right more often: a subscription business fighting churn, a retailer forecasting demand, a lender assessing risk, a service team drowning in tickets. If a better prediction would change what you do, there is value here.

You do not need a mature data platform to start. We often begin with a focused proof of concept on the data you already have, prove the value, then invest in the engineering to scale it. That keeps the first step small and the risk low.

  • Subscription and SaaS retention
  • Retail and ecommerce forecasting
  • Financial risk and fraud
  • Operations and maintenance
  • Marketing and customer growth
  • Proof-of-concept pilots

Why advanced analytics is worth it

The return on analytics comes from decisions made better and earlier. These are the kinds of outcomes well-scoped models deliver.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between advanced analytics and standard reporting?

Reporting and business intelligence tell you what has already happened. Advanced analytics is forward-looking: predictive analytics estimates what will happen, and prescriptive analytics recommends what to do about it. They complement each other, and we often build advanced analytics on top of a BI platform so insight and action sit side by side.

How much data do we need to get started?

Less than most people expect for a first useful model, though more and cleaner data generally means better accuracy. The honest answer depends on the problem, so we assess your data early and tell you whether it can support the decision you want to improve before committing to a full build.

Do we need machine learning, or is simpler analysis enough?

Often simpler statistical methods solve the problem perfectly well, and we will say so rather than over-engineer. We reach for machine learning when the data is rich and the patterns are too complex for traditional methods. The goal is the best decision, not the most impressive technique.

How do you make sure a model can be trusted?

We validate honestly on data the model has not seen, report real accuracy rather than flattering numbers, and test for bias and stability. We also keep models explainable so you understand why they make a prediction. A model you cannot trust or explain is one nobody will use.

What happens after a model is built?

We deploy it into production with MLOps: automated pipelines, monitoring for drift, and retraining when performance slips as the world changes. A model is not a one-off deliverable, it is a living capability, and we build it so it keeps earning its keep rather than quietly degrading.

Can you start with a small proof of concept?

Yes, and we usually recommend it. A focused pilot on the data you already have proves the value quickly and at low risk, before you invest in the engineering to scale it. If the pilot does not deliver, you have lost little and learned a lot.

How is this different from your generative AI work?

Advanced analytics is about predictive and prescriptive modelling on your structured data, forecasting, scoring and segmentation. Generative AI builds applications on top of large language models, such as chatbots and assistants. They often work together, and we offer both, so we will point you to whichever fits your problem.

Will the insights actually reach the people who make decisions?

Yes, because that is the point. We deliver model output into the dashboards, systems and workflows your team already uses, rather than leaving it in a report. Analytics only creates value when it changes a decision, so we design for action from the start.
